Five Favorite Stories and a Featured Writer
My personal “boost” program for great stories on Fourth Wave
My friend Evelyn Jean Pine has a writing buddy who is also a director of plays. One day this buddy participated in an exercise with a dozen other directors. Each read a play, and then lined up on a continuum from loved it to hated it. They did that multiple times. And every time, for every play, there were some educated and intelligent and artistic people who loved it, some who hated it, and some who were “meh.” EVERY PLAY. EVERY TIME.
What this tells me is art is subjective. And of course that’s true on Medium as well as everywhere else. So it’s no surprise that a number of the stories I nominate to be boosted each month are not chosen by curators. That’s why I’m inaugurating my own personal boost program, highlighting a few stories that were among my favorites last month, yet didn’t get the curators’ nod, and picking one writer to be featured. Here goes!
