Donald Trump is furiously courting the “bro” demographic. On Oct. 25, he taped an interview on the Joe Rogan podcast and stayed past his due date for a Michigan rally where his base had to wait three hours for him to show up. “We got so tied up,” he apologized . “But I figured you wouldn’t mind, since we’re trying to win.”

Young white men in the U.S. have problems. They are economically insecure, for one — far less able to find a good job and buy a house than their parents were. But presidential candidate Donald Trump would not fix that problem if he was elected. His economic plan focused on tariffs and tax cuts would help his billionaire toadys like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos accumulate more wealth while shafting the working class he charms so successfully at his rallies.

Trump won’t solve your money troubles

But don’t take my word for it. Take the word of people who study money for a living. Trump’s plan is going to leave middle- and working-class Americans with even less disposable income than they have today.
