A type of old school marriage is making a resurgence, and I’m so here for it

Why traditional heterosexual marriage won’t work for me

Remember, this is coming from someone who published this widely read piece two years ago about how marriage does not benefit women and is akin to slavery. I consider it a fine piece of writing and I still stand by it.

Marriage Is a Raw Deal For Women

However, that piece is centered around the traditional heteronormative marriage that most people think of. That’s not the kind of marriage I want, as I consider it toxic. Most straight men don’t regard women as unique human beings and usually only wish to marry so that their wives can be their unpaid servants, nurses, therapists, nannies, and event planners as well as sex workers who can perform on demand.
