The American Public is Far Left of Our Government

I was super intrigued by a comment made by Benjamin David Steele about the American populace. Despite what you might believe based on reading the news and following election results, most Americans are far left of our government. Mr. Steele promises to flesh out his comment to create a detailed story — and I can’t wait to read it when it comes — but in the meantime, allow me to summarize here.

First, here’s (some of) Steele’s comment:

... I became politicized in 2000. And I was shocked by how little pushback the Democrats gave to that stolen election. Instead, they scapegoated Nader and the Left. It was a pattern that would repeat over and over.

In the Aughts, I was more seriously researching various topics. And during the early Obama years, something inspired me to start digging into polling and survey data. I dug up everything I could find going back decades. I was shocked to find that most Americans were pretty far to the left …
