This Community of Single People Is 10 Years Old
Nearly 10,000 members discussing everything about single life except dating and unsingling ourselves
Happy Birthday, Community of Single People! This is a big one. We are 10 years old.
In July 2015, I started an online community on Facebook, the Community of Single People (CoSP). It is a place where we discuss every aspect of single life except dating or trying to unsingle yourself. Many members are single at heart: single life is their best life — their most meaningful, fulfilling, authentic, and psychologically rich life — though that’s not a requirement. As long as you are not trying to use the group to find a romantic partner or to obsess about romantic relationships, and you are not putting down people who love being single (in this group, we get a reprieve from that!), you may find that it is a group you appreciate.
Hundreds of us have been in the group for all 10 years. Many of us feel a fond familiarity with one another and some of us have met in person and become friends IRL.
Our numbers
We started out with just 600 members in 2015. Now, as of July 31,2025, we have nearly 10,000 (9,757, to be precise). The numbers do not include our pets; at least one is quite famous in the group…
