The Witch in the Woods and the Brave Boy’s Quest
A feminist fairy tale of transformation
Once upon a time in a small town in east Texas, there was a boy named Tomas. He lived among the loblolly pines in the Redpill Castle, a cold place lit by LED screens, echoing with voices of outrage and conquest.
There, his stepfather and uncles drank bitterness like water and told him what it meant to be a real man. They taught him rules that felt like chains. Never cry. Never ask for help. Dominate or be destroyed.
Many years earlier, before his true father had died, he had sent Tomas one final message, a cryptic text. It said, “When you are lost, sort, clean, serve, and listen for the quiet voice. I love you. I believe in your becoming.”
Tomas didn’t understand. He hid the message deep in his saved texts, and tried to survive in the cold castle.
But one day, the WiFi in Redpill Castle died.
The old men screamed and wailed. They could no longer stream their sermons of rage. And so they sent Tomas into the dark forest of screens to retrieve Power — something they said was being hoarded by the witch of the woods.
And so, he went
