Trump Deports 2-year-old US Citizen

A federal judge has confirmed that the Trump administration deported a 2-year-old American girl, known as V.M.L., to Honduras without following proper legal procedures. The child, born in New Orleans in 2023, was sent to Honduras on April 25, 2025, along with her mother and sister. This occurred despite the father’s legal efforts to keep his daughter in the United States.
The deportation took place after the family attended a routine immigration check-in in Louisiana. They were then detained and deported without proper communication with their family or legal representation.
When your own judges cannot defend you
U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty expressed strong suspicion that this deportation happened without meaningful legal procedures, stating, “It is illegal and unconstitutional to deport, detain for deportation, or recommend deportation of a U.S. citizen.”
