Brisco: Thank you Mr. Secretary for agreeing to do this with me, lets start off. What have you started since you’ve begin your job as Secretary of State?

Secretary Donovan: Well, I have begun reinvigorating the State Department by hiring core staff, we’re beginning to improve relations with China by hiring a new U.S. Ambassador and also discussing the opening of new trade agreements, we’re also working on bringing together our NATO allies and partners to strengthen the alliance and strengthen America’s sphere of influence. These are a couple of steps in the right direction towards making America a leading superpower. Under this Administration it is becoming a reality. America began her journey not even in the 10 ten world economies and now we’re number 3 and are even on track to take over China. Our GDP growth was 9% today which is more than any other U.N. country in history. Now that our economy is strong, the State Department is working to also help strengthen our allies economic power as well. America helps her allies, friends, and partners and shares her prosperity with the world.

Brisco: How do you think you've done so far?

Secretary Donovan: We’ve done an excellent job in making long-lasting relationships and expanding our influence, and this is only the beginning. When our country is officially launched you can expect a lot more from the State Department.

Brisco: Does the State Department have a long-term plan with countries around the world?

Secretary Donovan: Yes we do, even if we don’t see eye-to-eye, meeting and making their acquaintance is the least we can do with every country.

Brisco: What do you expect from congress to do, that would help benefit the department?

Secretary Donovan: At the moment, we’re working with Congress to get an increase in funding for USAID to make more contributions to our partners and allies. We’re also ready to work with Congress on passing trade agreements that will help our economy and trading partners’ economy grow.

Brisco: Do you think congress will fullfill their job and make sure the department get what they need?

Secretary Donovan: I’m confident Congress will see eye-to-eye with the Department, we’ve made huge strides in growing our economic power so I have faith Congress will see the work we’ve done and decide that the more resources they hand to State, the more tools we’ll have to advance America’s interest abroad.

Brisco: What is the President’s goal within the State Department and other countries in the world?

Secretary Donovan: I’ve done a good job at representing the President’s interest abroad, one example is our commitment to Canada to seeing the XL Pipeline being constructed and built that would further advance our economy and also increase Canada’s oil export.

Brisco: What are some upcoming events and possible new plans with the state department that haven’t been released yet, for the American people?

Secretary Donovan: Well, at the moment we’re planning a State Visit Tuesday for France and we’re hoping to makeup our absence at a smaller event we were going to have.

Brisco: What are some problems around the world that the department would like to take part in to solve?

Secretary Donovan: Well, our world is currently in a stable and safe place, and the State Department is interested in making sure it stays that way.

Brisco: How does the department plan to handle world hunger around the world and mostly in Africa?

Secretary Donovan: As I recently stated, the State Department is working with Congress to see an increase in the USAID's budget so that we can increase our contribution to countries suffering from starvation.

Brisco: Do you plan to support President Foxworths agenda wherever it may go?

Secretary Donovan: Absolutely, the President and I may not see eye-to-eye on every policy, but it’s my job as his Secretary of State to represent and execute his policy interest.

Brisco: One final question, how do you feel about your fellow cabinet members?

Secretary Donovan: It’s not my position to judge the qualifications or the work that my peers have done. We’re all a team and I believe this team is functioning well.

Brisco: Alright!! Thank you for this interview!
