What: Denver Broncos (7–7) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (7–7)
When: Sunday, December 26 at 4:05 p.m. E.T.
Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada

With Teddy Bridgewater out, the Broncos will turn to backup Drew Lock to lead the offense at quarterback in his first start since the end of the 2019 season. In his third game filling in for Bridgewater, Lock showed a spark against the Bengals but also struggled at times, as he threw his first touchdown of the season but also fumbled in a key moment. After a week of practice getting most of the reps, Lock will have his best chance yet to prove he’s better than he was in those moments and better than he was a year ago. With a full set of weapons available in wideouts Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Jerry Jeudy and tight ends Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam, Lock will have a complete receiving corps, unlike in 2020.

Las Vegas’ offense has been explosive at times this year, but it has not been as effective as it once was. The Raiders have scored 17 or more points just once in their last seven games, and 2020 Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller has missed their last three games due to injury. Still, quarterback Derek Carr has been impressive, as he’s already set a new career high in passing yards. His connection with receiver Hunter Renfrow will be one to watch, especially if Waller misses a fourth straight game. At the same time, Denver’s secondary could create problems for Carr and Co., as cornerback Pat Surtain II and safeties Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson look to prove they were worthy of Pro Bowl selections.

The Raiders are just a few days away from their huge Week 16 showdown against the Denver Broncos. The winner of this game will sit at 8–7 going into the final two weeks of the regular season with a real shot at making the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the loser will be 7–8 and likely out of playoff contention. Needless to say, this is a huge game on Sunday for both teams. It’s essentially a playoff game at Allegiant Stadium.
