Mix, match and evolve your items to qualify for exclusive gaming events and content

Today, we’re excited to introduce our brand new crafting portal to Fractal. Now you can combine resources you’ve scavenged throughout the site into exclusive, rare items.

This is the beginning of an open and interactive virtual goods economy on Fractal. That means:

• Soon, you’ll be able to show off your items as part of your journey and identity within your Fractal Account.
• In the future, others will be able to create their own recipes too — so expect to find potions, priceless gems, and powerful weapons from various realms with their own quest lines.

What is crafting?

In gaming, crafting refers to the creation of new items using old ones or different kinds of ingredients. You obtain resources from missions, which you can then trade or combine to form new or better items. Crafting powers the key game loops of some of the world’s best titles: Runescape, World of Warcraft, Monster Hunter, Minecraft and more.

Why craft?

As a player, crafting is your entry ticket into Fractal’s most exclusive content. Most of your key experiences — including access, identity, and inventory — will derive from the items you craft. Basically, you’ll be able to personalize and uplevel your rewards to represent your unique journey on Fractal.

As a game developer, you can leverage crafting to acquire and engage players. Create your own recipes and items that get players excited and eager to take in-game actions. Sound interesting? Contact us here.

How do I craft on Fractal?

You can craft on Fractal now at fractal.is/craft.

Right now, we’re offering two starter recipes — which you’ll see on the left side bar. To get started, choose one of the recipes and tap ‘Craft Item’. Confirm you’re ready to craft (you can’t undo it!) by tapping Craft again. After a few seconds, you’ll get a Success dialog. Then head to Game Items in your Fractal Account to see your new item!

Recipe 1: Silver POPs

To craft this recipe, first you need to attend a game night (Tues and Thurs at 10pm UTC on Discord!) so you can earn a POP (Proof of Play) badge — and you’ll ned to have a certain amount of F Points.

Come to 3 game nights, get 3 POPs and craft them into 1 Silver POP.

Recipe 2: Silver to Gold

To craft this recipe, you need 3 Silver POPs, which you can craft into 1 Gold POP. A Gold POP will qualify you for exclusive community events with some of our highest prize pools, which you can see at fractal.is/events.
