Lovers

The Sun neatly tucked in its azure sheets
Trees welcome those who walk hand in hand
The streetlamps bring out the stardust in every leaf
But dim the night sky stars with cruel command
Cats call the seaside path their home
Every now and then they unleash their stench
Five point seven miles lovers will stroll
And smell nothing but Ocean until they’ve walked ten
A masonry wall stands by the long path
It remembers a time when it stood alone
If walls could talk it would say that
It is fed up with lovers who carve on its stone
