Staten Island Arts is accepting applications for DCA Premier and Art Fund Grants.

Description: Staten Island Arts offers grants for artists, arts and cultural organizations, and arts-in-education programs.

DCA Premier Grants support first-time grantees — both individual Staten Island artists, collaborative groups of individuals, and community arts and cultural organizations — that present art and cultural programming through projects and public presentations. Grant request range: $750–$3,000.

Previously funded Staten Island Arts Premier artists and arts organization awardees may apply for funding for community projects in all art and artistic cultural disciplines — music, dance, digital/new media, film/video/animation, folk arts, humanities and cultural studies, interdisciplinary events/festivals, literature, public art, theatre, performing and visual arts. No conduit or 501(c)3 required. Individual category can include collaborative groups of individuals. Requests range from $750–$5000. Organizations may apply for up to three grants, the total amount not to exceed $5000 (maximum grant).

Preference will be given to the Underserved Disciplines for 2019: Dance, Digital/New Media, Folk Arts, Humanities, Photography

California Humanities is accepting applications for California Documentary Project Grants.

Description: The California Documentary Project (CDP) is a competitive grant program that supports the research and development and production stages of film, audio, and digital media projects that seek to document California in all its complexity. Projects should use the humanities to provide context, depth and perspective and reach and engage broad audiences through multiple means, including but not limited to radio and television broadcasts, podcasts, online distribution and interactive media, community screenings and discussions, in classrooms and libraries, at cultural centers, film festivals, and beyond. Funding is available in two categories:

  • CDP Research and Development grants are designed to strengthen the humanities content and approach of documentary media productions in their earliest stages. Projects must actively involve at least three humanities advisors to help frame and contextualize subject matter throughout the research and development phase. Eligible applicants may apply for funding up to $10,000.
  • CDP Production grants are designed to strengthen the humanities content and approach of documentary media productions and help propel projects toward completion. Projects must be in the production stage, have a work-in-progress to submit, and actively involve at least two humanities advisors to help frame and contextualize subject matter throughout the production process. Eligible applicants may apply for funding up to $50,000.

Colorado Creative Industries is accepting applications for Career Advancement Awards.

Description: This grant award supports Colorado creative entrepreneurs and artists to help support career growth and enhance their commercial creative business. The goal is that awardees will achieve tangible business benefits such as increased revenue, new audiences/consumers or improved management practices. This award is considered a mid-career opportunity; initial costs to create a new business or career pathway are not eligible.

Reimbursable, matching funds up to $2,500 support Colorado creative entrepreneurs and artists to help stimulate their commercial creative business. The goal is that awardees will achieve tangible business benefits such as increased revenue, new audiences or improved management practices.

Smack Mellon is accepting applications for its Artist Studio Program.

Description: The Artist Studio Program was launched in 2000 in response to the crisis of available affordable space for artists living and working in New York City. The program provides six eligible artists working in all visual arts media a free private studio space accessible 24/7 and a fellowship (dependent on funding). The program runs for an eleven-month period from June to May. The studios are located on the lower level of our building at 92 Plymouth Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn and range in size from 250 to 300 square feet. The program does not provide living space.

Center for Cultural Innovation is accepting applications for The City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs’ Creative Industries Incentive Fund (CIIF).

Description: The City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs’ Creative Industries Incentive Fund (CIIF) provides project support to arts-based commercial businesses involved in the production or distribution of the arts. Incentive awards are for creative industries of all types, such as manufacturers, service providers, presenters, and designers, among others. The CIIF seeks to support projects aimed at building successful small arts businesses in San Jose by their ability to: Increase community support and marketability; Leverage CIIF funding with other funding support; and Demonstrate growth and economic sustainability.

The Awesome Foundation is accepting applications for project funding.

Description: The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time.

Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter’s “trustees” and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation is accepting applications for USArtists International (USAI).

Description: Support for the presentation and touring of performing artists is central to the work of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (“MAAF”). The USArtists International program (USAI) supports performances by U.S. artists at significant international festivals and performing arts marketplaces outside the United States and its territories. The program supports the engagements of exemplary solo artists and ensembles across all performing arts disciplines including dance, music, theater, multidisciplinary work, and folk/traditional arts.

USArtists International is designed to encourage and promote the vibrant diversity of U.S. artists and creative expression in the performing arts by expanding opportunity and exposure to international audiences, encouraging international cultural exchange, and enhancing creative and professional development of U.S. artists by providing connections with presenters, curators and fellow artists. The program is committed to the presence of U.S. artists on world stages and aims to extend the reach and impact of professional artists dependent on touring for continued sustainability and career advancement.
