Bora Stanković wouldn’t have imagined such admirers

Borisav Stanković, a Serbian writer that has made women go crazy

A month ago, on platform X, a guy from Serbia (Southeastern Europe) posted something quite amusing for his fellow countrymen. It was a photo of a famous Serbian novelist Borisav Stanković with a short comment:

“Foreigners are drooling over Bora”.

The reactions ranged from “Very daddy 🔥” to “Hubba hubba” to “He died so young but also 🔥af 💧”.

We Serbs found it funny. Although Bora was a handsome man, he represents a conservative way of life while Serbia was still under Turkish rule. It was pretty hilarious to see this for a few reasons:

1. This guy we learned about at school wrote about 19th-century stuff… We see him as yet another historical figure like Lincoln or Franklin.
2. None of those enthusiastic people can put their finger on the world map to show where our small country is, yet our writer has gained such fame in no time… for his looks, not his work.
3. Not only women, but also members of the LGBTQIA community love him. Conservative Bora would not really understand that.
