Managing government technology is no easy job. You’re under the constant threat of cyber attack. You’re subject to strict regulations. At every level — federal, state, and local — government organizations are under pressure to strengthen their security and improve their compliance. Government clouds were created to solve both problems, providing the power and convenience of a public cloud while ensuring data, applications, and hardware remain protected from foreign interests.

Today, we’re announcing early access of Frame on Azure Government. The public sector now has a secure path to replace legacy data centers and on-premises VDI infrastructure, using Microsoft’s state-of-the-art public cloud.

With recent investment from In-Q-Tel, we’ve been working at the forefront of digital transformation to enable US Government migrations to public hyper-scale clouds. All the while, our platform ensures applications and data can be accessed from a browser on any device, with no additional software. The Frame Government platform is engineered to meet the needs of government workloads, and we’re committed to keeping up with regulations like FedRAMP, ITAR, and NIST 800–171 as they evolve.

We’ve listened to customers who want to extend Office 365 with desktop applications like Microsoft Project. With Frame, they can run these desktop apps natively on Azure Government using the Office 365 application launcher.

We’ve also heard from customers who tell us that browsers are one of their most significant security challenges. Threats are plentiful on the open Internet, and unsecured browsers can put an entire organization at risk. But when users browse through Frame on Azure Government, any malware they inadvertently access is entirely isolated from their corporate network.

Finally, we’ve paid attention to organizations that like running their applications anywhere, on anything, but want the power and familiarity of a desktop environment. With Frame, they can do that too, accessing a full-fledged Windows desktop in their digital workspace. It feels just like running Windows on your desktop with applications and data isolated from endpoint devices.

For more on these and other use cases, watch the interview with Frame’s Director of Security and Solutions David Reber.
