More and more of our customers are using Frame Platform to deliver on-site and online training for their software products. This totally makes sense because, let’s face it, managing and maintaining physical training centers and fleets of mobile training computers is a drag. And other online training approaches can be just as challenging, if not more so. How can you be sure there are enough software licenses for all trainees, that they have the correct software version installed, and that they’ve done all the prep work including downloading the training files? Or what if they just don’t have the right hardware to run the apps or training software?

Frame Platform makes everything easier:

  • Students need only a browser and internet connection to access the class.
  • Administrators install and configure the applications once and deliver them to any number of students from a centralized location.
  • Training files are available to students as part of the workspace curated by the administrator and automatically reset after every training session.
  • Scale on-demand with no limit on capacity. Teach five students one day, 100 the next and then back down to five the following day without having to plan for capacity up front.
  • Pay only for what you use. Just like your electric bill you only pay for the time the lights are on.

And most importantly, Frame Platform is completely customizable to meet your unique business needs and training processes.

Tips for simplifying student invitations

Here’s an example of how easy it is to customize workflows with Frame Platform. We recently worked with a customer that wanted to see what options were available for streamlining how they were inviting students to online training. Their process relied on managing a spreadsheet of generic student emails (student1@customer.com, student2@customer.com, etc.), inviting them, having someone set the password and then sending each student a customized email with the training information and their assigned student email address and password. Then, at the end of the class, they had to reference the spreadsheet to determine which students needed to be deleted and when. This process worked but they knew there had to be a better way.

Here are some of the features already built into Frame Platform that we used to streamline their process:

  • Eliminated the spreadsheet by inviting users using their own email address.
  • Switched to pre-authorized invites. Pre-authorized invites allows the administrator to bulk invite students and also set the password. This means that their training invite no longer requires any per-student customization, a single email template can be used.

  • Added the training class identifier as a user note. When it comes time to delete a student’s access they can filter based on the class identifier, choose “select all” and use bulk delete to delete the users in a single step.
  • Added a training subscription that controls how many days and hours a student has access to Frame. This way there isn’t a rush to remove a user’s access at the end of their class and it limits a user’s access to only when class is scheduled.
  • Added the connection check page to their email template. This lets users test their connection before the class and get help in advance if they need it.

  • Customized the invitation emails sent by Frame so that they now come from their own training email address and are customized with their own text and branding. This way if a user had to be invited “the old way” it has the same look and feel as the emails they were sending outside of Frame.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Frame has unlimited levels of customization to meet your needs and workflows. Want to invite users as part of an order automation process in your CRM? Want to use an existing customer portal to control access to training? Both (and much more) can be done with our API.

Whether you’re looking to move your training to the cloud or are just looking at ways to optimize how you’re using Frame — I hope this gave you some ideas about what is possible.
