Special Edition Contents:

  • Digital Transfer from Original Film Elements.
  • High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation.
  • Original Stereo Audio.
  • Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
  • Audio commentary with writer Tom Holland. Tom is very honest and open about the rumoured problems between Perkins and Tilly, as well as how Universal were convinced to push the movie once Perkins was on board. He’s definitely worth listening to in this and other features.
  • Never-before-heard audio interview with director Richard Franklin. Sadly, Franklin is no longer with us, but to have a rare never-before-heard interview with his is a real treat. It’s clear that he had a lot of respect for Hitchcock and wanted to pay his respects to his work by making sure Psycho II was as good as possible. He clearly knew he’d never surpass it, but instead took his own angle on the story and did various tributes along the way. Listening to Franklin makes the movie a whole lot more interesting.
  • Archive Interview with star Anthony Perkins. I find Perkins such an enigma that I’m always fascinated to see any interviews with the man. He always had a mysterious vibe about him, despite seeming like a truly nice guy. There was just that aura that made him absolutely perfect for Norman Bates. Here, his love of the character is very clear. He’s protective over Norman and you can see why he was hesitant to do a sequel, but believed in Holland’s vision as long as he was allowed input. He’s a man you could happily listen to for hours and his enthusiasm for all things Norman makes the movie all the more enjoyable.
  • Vintage EPK material featuring interviews with cast and crew. These are a nice insight into how TV pieces were produced back in the 1980s. They do get a bit repetitive with the same footage used, but they do the job in terms of hyping the return of Psycho.
  • Trailers & TV Spots.
  • Still Gallery.
  • Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Adam Rabalais.
  • FIRST PRESSING ONLY: Collector’s Booklet with new writing on the film alongside a reprint of the Psycho II chapter from Richard Franklin’s unpublished autobiography.
