Successful placement of lawyers
Legalhead GmbH is the oldest and currently the highest-turnover subsidiary of the Frankfurt Mobilehead Holding. It focuses on the placement of lawyers of all career levels in the German market — at least so far.
The world stands still — Legalhead does not
at a time when one cannot or should not leave the country because of the Corona Virus, one could certainly call founding a company on another continent insane — or at least courageous. However, such extensive and long-term planning is difficult to stop at full speed. Especially when it is not really necessary: video conferences, chats, telephone calls and the good old e-mail are excellent tools for exchanging information even over long distances. At least until you get to know cooperation partners personally and can shake hands without the risk of infection.
The time difference is therefore currently a much bigger problem than not being physically present. But even this can be solved quite easily and without jet lag.
Even before the outbreak of the pandemic, the most important contracts for the expansion had been signed, the finances had been clarified and the website — the heart of Legalhead — was about to be completed.
Of course, the restrictions caused by COVID-19 are not the best possible basis for entering the American market, but the company is not going to be stopped by this and relies on the support of local cooperation partners, such as the German Accelerator.
Legalhead also uses its advantage to already cooperate with some law firms and commercial enterprises in Germany that have their headquarters in the USA. Thus, the operators of the Legalhead platform can fall back on existing business relationships right from the start.
No time to lose
Legalhead is expanding with the knowledge that market establishment always takes time. Therefore the HR-Tech company sees the Corona situation as a chance; it uses this time, in which others (have to) stand still, wisely and organizes as much as possible from the German head office, before the entry into the USA is possible again without any concerns.
A small team has already been found for the new New York location, which will initially be responsible for business development and talent management. The (online) marketing is also making great progress and will in future assign corresponding tasks to a US agency. However, management, strategy and programming will continue to operate from Frankfurt.
Fortune in misfortune
Legalhead’s core business has so far barely been affected by the effects of the virus’ or the measures taken to combat it: Good lawyers are always in demand — perhaps even more so in the post-COVID 19 era. Therefore the Legalhead team can look positively into the business future, both in Germany and in the USA, despite the crisis period.
And there are two reasons to celebrate in 2020: the fifth anniversary of Legalhead Germany and the birth of Legalhead USA.
