A day at the desk with Linda
Today we took some time to chat with Linda, our brilliant HR manager. Linda gave us a bit of insight into what makes her day run smoothly and why her position in our team is quite unique.
Hey Linda, so what were you doing before you came to work at Frankly?
I have a Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management from Lund University. Recently I worked as a Consultant Manager for a short period and before that as an HR/Recruiter at BlackBerry where I worked on a strategic and operational level within different HR areas. It has been a great experience to “sit on the other side of the table” as a Consultant Manager, but it also made me realize which side I belong on.
What is your job title and what duties does your position fulfil?
My job title is HR Manager and I’ve developed all the HR work at Frankly from scratch! It’s truly a big challenge but also a great opportunity to actually build the foundation from the very beginning. Frankly has a very exciting future ahead and I think we need more than just regular policy documents and fitness reimbursements to create the amazing studio that we really want. I will manage both long term and short term HR activities with the goal to improve our work environment but also keep our employees as happy as possible.

What do you find to be the biggest difference in your daily experience now and before you worked at Frankly?
I’m allowed to take full responsibility for all HR areas and to make decisions that I find best suitable for the future success for Frankly. The decision paths are shorter than what I’m used to and the stakeholders are fewer which makes everything much easier and faster.
What do you find to be an important factor in your work environment?
My colleagues, without any doubt! They are the ones who making it fun to go to work every day. The atmosphere is also very creative and playful. We are very clear on what we’re supposed to do and everyone is very dedicated to that. But even with all the hard work, it’s okay to play fussball (which I suck at) or just have a fika in the kitchen.
What’s something you can’t live without on your desk every day, that contributes to your job/life?
Maybe not on my desk, but in a bag under my desk: my workout clothes. I always end my day at work with a workout at the gym. That makes my day complete and I get a chance to clear my head. I also keep an inspiring baking book on my desk because I love to bake (but not eat it). Other than that, of course my computer but also post-it notes and ny notebook that helps me remember everything. Without them I’m lost. Right now I’m longing for the spring to arrive so I can go for a ride on my precious, red motorcycle. That makes my life complete. But hey, who doesn’t long for the spring?
