Designing in the gym…

The iPhone‘s Lock Screen is where I interact with __________* (insert music service) the most. Usually, I log onto a playlist, lock my phone and go on a back and forward zapping adventure. Today, when I saw this random Jon Hopkins cover image promoting his gig at the Echoplex thought this little JPEG had pretty cool idea behind it.

What if every time the band I was listening to had an upcoming gig nearby me, an alternative cover image would be generated to ping me right in the lock screen about it? Could be used both when there‘s an upcoming show or when the band / label would want to promote a specific big show — turning it into a lock screen hackvertising solution for a technically mature music service.

All in all, we‘re merely talking about dynamic cover generation on the fly, no biggie! ;) Could look like something in the lines of:
