Announcing the first winning cohort
How it Works
Let us very briefly explain again how the lottery works.
#1 - Fractal generated a random string, called a secret, and produced a hash of it. We call this hash our commitment.
#2 - The commitment is published and available to everyone. You are able to find it on our Fractal Protocol landing page of the lottery.
#3 - In the lottery system, we combine your email address with the secret and hash the result. The hash is going to be a completely random combination of numbers and letters which will be your lottery ticket! The lottery tickets with the lowest number wins. To make it absolutely transparent, we will publish the list of lottery tickets. Please note, that no personal information is disclosed in any way.
#4 - Now as the first phase of the lottery ended, we will publish the secret. You will then be able to create a hash of your email address with the secret yourself in order to verify the result of the lottery. In other words, you can check your personal lottery ticket by hashing the secret together with your email address and compare the result with the list of all lottery tickets. If you have fulfilled all necessary steps in the typeform you should be able to find your lottery ticket within this list. In addition, you can also verify that we have used the right secret as you have the commitment with which you can compare if the hash of the secret really matches it. Consequently, you can verify the fairness of the lottery as the outcome is transparent.
Winners of the First Round
We have drawn the first 11 winners with verilot, which is based on a randomized selection system that guarantees absolute fairness. Full transparency is one of our core values, which is also why we made our lottery system completely open source.
The commitment we published was:
By using the open source verilot package, you can check that this commitment actually matches the secret, which was used in the lottery: 73ddb50a5b5b3e352ce534e0b2b6564c6f6c772b11659ab51668e488fd64c864d140dd0f9236ccfc3c2cc7129730d358e7053a739d2917caee3d36531bd37487
We used this secret together with your mail addresses to create your random lottery ticket. In the following, you can see a list of the lottery tickets and the corresponding random numbers. We will reach out to the winning ticket with the lowest number.
In the file below you can further see the hashes in winning order.
To check whether you have won, you´d need to create a hash out of the secret & your email in order to find the matching one in the list. The first one thereby wins 30k FCL while the other ten win 4k FCL. Congratulations!
Buckle up: The Second Round is About to Start
In case you haven’t done so already, you can still participate within the next 4 days, until 23 July at 2:00 pm UTC. So go ahead and secure your lottery entry to be one of the next 11 lucky winners.
We will create a new secret as well as a new commitment that you can find on the lottery landing page.
Good Luck and thanks for your support!
