Some crochet squares seemed destined for one project, and one project only; other squares seem to fit in at whatever crochet party/project they find themselves, and in this particular paradigm Square D-2 is definitely one of those “other squares” that always seems to be able to read the “crochet” room and find a place where it can fit.
