ANIMALS
RSPCA Scam is a Heartbreaking Betrayal
Instead of protecting animals, they are endorsing horrendous abuse and suffering
Imagine a so-called animal protection organisation so corrupt that dying animals have to be rescued from them. It sounds like a far-fetched plot, yet this is real life.
The RSPCA, the world’s biggest and oldest animal welfare organisation, whose sole raison d’être is supposed to be to prevent cruelty to animals, is not only turning a blind eye to horrendous animal abuse, but actually endorsing it.
When people think of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, they usually think of courageous and compassionate officers rescuing cats and dogs from neglect, horses stuck in muddy ditches and the like. But there’s another, much darker, side to the organisation, one that actively promotes the suffering and exploitation of animals in their thousands.
The RSPCA Assured scheme is meant to reassure consumers that the animals they are eating were raised and killed ‘humanely’ (whatever that means). Supermarket shoppers look for the ‘RSPCA Assured’ stickers on their packs of sausages or bacon because they care about animals and want to feel confident that no ‘unnecessary suffering’ occurred in bringing their food to their plate.
