There Are No More Solutions
We had the chance to do something wonderful and we blew it
We’re witnessing the fall of the biggest empire in history.
That was the message and the title of my recent article looking at how our civilisation is careering headlong towards our own destruction. It’s by far the most popular article I’ve ever written.
Something about that article resonated deeply with a lot of people. I think it’s because people sense it’s true. But it’s more than that.
People are waking up to the imminence of their own demise and it’s a shock.
There’s something about being told your condition is terminal and nothing can be done that will snap you into reality like a bucket of cold water in the face.
We’ve been chasing the dream for so long that we started thinking the dream was all there was. Now we’re waking up to reality and finding it’s a nightmare.
I’ve always tried to acknowledge every reply to each one of my articles and stories, but with this one, I’ve given up. There are so many replies coming in that I just can’t keep up with them all.
