Just how bad will the massacre in Gaza prove to be for Joe Biden? is the question many are wondering about. Those with sharp memories will be quick to remember how little impact foreign policy has on presidential elections. But at the same time, it’s hard to ignore the democratization of information that’s happened in the last few years. Had it not been for social media, the war on Gaza would’ve seldom shaped political discourse in America. The question is, how much effect has it had?

The Labour Party — the party Muslims have traditionally voted for, much like the Democrats in America — have, in a recent string of Mayoral elections, hemorrhaged support from the Muslim community. They were upset with the party leader’s unconditional support for Israel’s actions (in the earlier stages — particularly when he said Israel had the right to cut off food and water for a civilian population) and decided to vent their anger at the ballot box.
