Moving Towards Your New Life & Manifesting Your Dreams: A Reflection on the New Moon in Sagittarius

Jupiter has been in Sagittarius — its own sign — for almost a year now. Jupiter is a planet of fortune, abundance and expansion of the mind and spirit. But — in the same way that Uranus can break shit just because that’s what he does regardless of whether or not there’s a reason, Jupiter can expand anything — even things you’d prefer he didn’t — just because that’s what he does. Jupiter must stay on the move. You may observe this in people with an abundance of Sagittarian energy or experience it as one of those people. Jupiter does not like it when things block his ability to move, so he’s quick to expand/point out what’s blocking his ability to move forward. This can mean that if there are aspects of YOU that are blocking his ability to expand and move forward, he’ll tell you about it!

Jupiter can be a bit judgy at times (since he’s always right) — partly because he has to grow and move on to the next thing and he just can’t understand why some people CAN’T! It isn’t personal. He just can’t have you getting in his way — and if you’re in his presence not making the moves he thinks you should make, you’re in his way. So, if the last year has been a bit more challenging than you hoped or expected it would be, this could be part of what you’ve felt. College might not prepare you for the real world — but Jupiter will.

Nonetheless …

If you got the memo from Jupiter in Sagittarius about what needs to change and how YOU need to change and you’re actively taking steps to remove the barriers of your own expansion that you’ve discovered over the past year, you will be rewarded handsomely over the coming year. Jupiter in Sagittarius is the teacher or professor who prepares you for the “real world” — Saturn, Capricorn, and especially, Saturn IN Capricorn. In just a few short weeks, Jupiter will move from Sagittarius to Capricorn and meet Saturn there, in Saturn’s home sign. This will probably feel like a major energetic shift, as the planets start to really crowd into Capricorn and Jupiter and Saturn settle into how to negotiate their opposing energies to reach a win/win outcome.

Even if this year has challenged you spiritually, emotionally, and physically, I invite you to consider the gifts and lessons you’ve received this year.

· What luck have you encountered?
· What fortunes have you gained?
· What synchronicities have you experienced this year?
· How have you expanded?
· How is the current version of yourself better than the one who entered into this transit a year ago?

This weekend, Jupiter, the planet of fortune and expansion, will conjoin Venus, the planet of love, connection, and abundance. Venus and Jupiter are called the benefics of the Zodiac because, more often than not, they satisfy our desires. Their conjunction can be very auspicious, for sure, and two days following this conjunction, the Moon will birth herself in Sagittarius.

So — following a MOST intense Scorpio season, we are immediately gifted with some luck, abundance and relief. You may be out there, like, “I mean, I’ll really take anything right now! Throw me a BONE!” Sagittarius is your bone right now (feel free to interpret that however you want). As the moon births herself in Sagittarius, Venus and Jupiter will remain quite close as Jupiter spends his last few days at home — all of which can benefit you under this New Moon.

The energy over the next week or two is a gift. This is the line. This is the portal. This is the threshold that separates your old life from your new life, your old self from your new self. You will look back on his time years from now and understand that everything happening right now was preparing you for what was about to come. The first two weeks of this lunar cycle are a critical time for manifestation, so it’s MOST critical that you spend this weekend focusing clearly on exactly what you want and how you want to feel moving forward while Venus and Jupiter have their channels open to receive your requests.

The Winter Solstice arrives at the end of this cycle, just on the heels of the next New Moon on Dec. 25th, which will also initiate eclipse season.

All of this is to say — USE THIS TIME WISELY!

This cycle is an opportunity to complete any unfinished projects you’ve been working on while beginning to plan and prepare for the next project, phase, and decade. Luckily, Sagittarius moves quickly, so you’re supported in your completion. Just be careful not to get distracted. Remind yourself of what you’re working towards every day. Be sure to work only on the most important things that will allow you to complete what you’ve started and carry you to the next phase.

Sagittarius is the sign of expansion — distant lands and travel (however you may define that) as well as philosophical, theoretical and spiritual expansion. It represents formal publishing, higher learning, formal debates, and the institutions that facilitate these sorts of activities. So, regardless of where Sagittarius falls in your chart, these are themes that will most likely arise to some extent.

This new moon could bring breakthroughs related to the story that the last Full Moon in Taurus broke open. Your sense of worth could be affected positively — in your heart, your pocket, or perhaps both. The story is building. Next steps are making themselves known. While you may have the inclination to act immediately, the first two weeks of this cycle are a spiritual cradle or incubator. For at least the first few days of the cycle, allow yourself to stay in that space as much as possible to maintain the proper environment for growth and expansion — whatever that means for you.

You could feel like healing waters are washing over you and carrying away the excrement that’s been produced over the last month, year, and decade. Let the past stay in the past so that you can see the beauty that lies ahead clearly. You are deeply supported by the spiritual world, so PAY ATTENTION and make sure that you don’t miss anything making its way to you. By the 1st Quarter Moon (a week following the new moon), the way will be open for you to act and you’ll be more prepared than ever to make the moves you’ve been stewing.

As I’ve already mentioned, this lunar cycle is a prime time to review the past so you can prepare for the future. What have the past year, decade, and twelve-year cycles been about for you? What have been your greatest achievements and victories? How have you grown? What have you learned? What is no longer working for you? What would you like to bring with you into the next decade and the next twelve-year cycle?

We’re entering into a new time. What will this time be about for YOU!? Proclaim it NOW and claim it as your own!

Many magnificent and abundant blessings for this weekend and New Moon!

❤, Hilary
