After an incredible journey and effort from many contributors and supporters of the Freeos project, we are ecstatic to announce the launch date of the very first phase of Freeos—the AirClaim.
Midnight, UTC 0:00 — February 14th, 2022 will be the start of the 1st week of AirClaim!
The AirClaim will run for 25 weeks, and will run between February 14th until August 7th.
As a reminder, each iteration will last 1 week, there will be plenty of time each week to make your weekly claim.

Regarding Staking Requirements and KYC
Ideally, the AirClaim would launch as soon as Proton KYC was available globally. All indications from their team points to “soon”, but there is no fixed date as of yet.
Since staking (as a type of collateral) helps both mitigate bots and puts a soft cap on the numbers of people that can join the AirClaim in this early stage of Freeos, we’ve put a plan together to account for both possibilities.
We’re planning two different sets of staking requirements—one for the possibility there is no global KYC to start, and another if it happens to be launched.
We’ve updated the staking calculator for the non-KYC option on the main https://freeos.io website.
The more participants there are, the higher the staking requirements become.
NOTE: staking requirements are simply collatoral. Staking more does not have an impact on earnings, and you can retrieve your staking amount after the AirClaim. Once you put up the stake, you are set and don’t need to stake more—even in the staking requirements increase due to more participants joining (unless you unstake and restake).
To prevent the types of bots and duplicate accounts we saw in the Open Beta, we’ve put a base level of staking for non-verified accounts. It starts small and ramps up as more participants join.
Now, IF global KYC is launched by the Proton Team, we’ve dropped any staking requirements for verified users up to the first 7000 users. This is because we can feel more assured that there is less potential to be overrun by bots and duplicate accounts.
The AirClaim is just the beginning. It introduces much of the base economics that Freeos requires, and paves the way for the fully-featured Goverance Phase that will occur after the 25-week AirClaim.
Stay tuned to further announcements, and we’ll keep the community updated if global KYC is released by the Proton team.
