We are proud to announce that Freeos — an economic system built on the principles of democratic participation and fiscal responsibility — is going to be launched on the Proton blockchain, run alongside the talented team at Metal Pay.
We chose Proton for a number of reasons, including:
- EOSIO. A fast, maturing, democratically-oriented blockchain that has strong development capabilities and supporting tools and technologies.
- Built-in mitigations against duplicate accounts and bots (limits to free accounts, built-in name, avatar image and KYC verification)
- Superb onboarding experience and user friendly wallet.
- No transaction fees, gas fees,or resources to be managed by the users
- Push transactions to integrate the wallet easily to dApps (such as Freeos)
- Separation of on-chain resources with mainchain’s native currency.
- Promising on-ramps/off-ramps with Proton Swap, Metal Pay, MetalX and a number of 3rd party exchanges.
- Variety of popular stablecoins already supported.
- Swapping/wrapping of Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens.
- Directly wrapping Bitcoin (upcoming).
- Oracle support.
- Fantastic team that delivers rapidly, and is open to suggestions.

Things have been moving fast with the Proton team and, based on past performance, we expect many great things in 2021.
Our hope is that — through attracting users who are seeking a way to earn and steward a stable crypto income — we may bring many new users to the Proton chain. Many of which are expected to be new to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Our first phase of Freeos — the AirClaim — is currently being tested on the Proton Testnet, and a smart-contract audit has been retained for February, 2021.
