Iranian regime president Ebrahim Raisi appoints Mohammad Eslami as AEOI chief.

The previous AEOI chief played a pivotal role in the 2015 nuclear deal.
Eslami lacks academic nuclear credentials, but has played a pivotal role in the regime’s nuclear weapons program.
Eslami has deep ties with the IRGC, the military body overseeing the regime’s nuclear program.
Iranian opposition NCRI: in 1987 Eslami met with AQ Khan, “father of Pakistan’s nuclear program.”
UN sanctioned Eslami in 2008 for developing Iran’s nuclear weapon delivery systems.
Eslami’s appointment comes as Iran ramps up uranium enrichment activities.
