Paris Free Iran Rally, February 8, 2025: A Symbol of the Ongoing Fight for Freedom
On February 8, 2025, Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance will gather in Paris Free Iran Rally to mark the anniversary of the 1979 anti-monarchic revolution and advocate for a democratic alternative amid growing pressures on the regime.
This demonstration is a rejection of both the Shah’s monarchy and the ruling theocracy, echoing the call: “Down with the Oppressor, be it the Shah or the Mullahs.” The 1979 revolution stemmed from widespread dissatisfaction with political repression, economic mismanagement, and social injustice, but instead of democracy, it led to another dictatorship under Khomeini. His regime suppressed opposition, including the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), and established an authoritarian theocracy.
Efforts to romanticize the Shah’s era ignore its oppressive nature and contradict the Iranian people’s aspiration for true democracy. The 2022 protests, particularly in Zahedan, reaffirmed this rejection of all forms of dictatorship.
The February 8 rally is a statement of resilience, proving that the fight for freedom continues. Simay Azadi remains committed to amplifying these voices, ensuring the world hears the Iranian people’s unyielding demand for democracy and justice.
