After nearly 5 months of application development, dedicated business development, brain storming & much more, here is FreeFlix Media Labs (or FreeFlix Media for short) saying “Hello, World!” :)

Why FreeFlix Media Suite?

FreeFlix Media Suite enables creators, studios and content owners increase efficiency & reduce friction, during the process of content creation, management, distribution, monetization and measurement.

FreeFlix Media’s vision is to manage, deliver and enable the audience, of our clients/users, to experience content & storytelling formats like never before.

Every creator and their team has their own workflow based on the skill set within each team. Most operations and processes go for a toss in case of a time-sensitive event and as FreeFlix Media, we aim to develop tools that have low friction to initiate and complete a specific task thereby increasing efficiency while collaborating in the process of content creation/development.

FreeFlix Media is on a mission to develop tools for creators and brands to create novel content experiences and continue to enable them do what they do best!

FreeFlix Media Suite (FMS) and products within

FMS consists of products and tools that meet the needs & demands of organizations/individuals to manage digital content. Products within FMS are:

Who is FreeFlix Media Suite (FMS) for?

for anyone that manages media files or even metadata

FMS works in a variety of contexts and helps media managers across a diverse range of industries (more on that a bit later) manage their digital media content. Below are the most prominent stakeholders:

  1. Independent Content Creators — YouTubers, Instagram Influencers, Vloggers, etc.
  2. Studios / Media Houses — Managing and publishing content to multiple digital media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Apple iTunes, Spotify, etc.
  3. Agencies Content Management Agencies & Digital Media Marketing Agencies
  4. Content Owners — to manage any (or) all of — text, audio, video and image content types
  5. Brand & Media Managers — in Product Teams, FMCG organizations, Offline/Retail Stores, Manufacturing, etc.

The above stakeholders can use the FreeFlix Media Suite for:

1) Content Creation/Development

current status : developed as part of FreeFlix Studio

A FreeFlix Studio user gets access to tools for creators/content owners to derive efficient processes for content creation and post-processing.

With FreeFlix Studio, a user can schedule Live/Linear Broadcasts using existing Video-on-Demand (VOD) videos.

FreeFlix Media also developed a version of interactive video campaigns for content marketing purposes, which is yet to be released to the general public.

2) Content Management

current status : developed as part of FreeFlix Studio

Metadata for each piece of video/audio/text content can be tagged for informational purposes either manually or through object detection. Internal data during the content creation process & performance on external platforms, is automatically fetched & stored.

Data of these Media Assets, in future, incl. data of asset metadata, workflow of the content within the organization, rights information and other required metadata is stored on the blockchain.

The blockchain does NOT involve the use of cryptocurrency and only the use of Distributed Ledger Technology, as a technology, is being considered. The FreeFlix Hub, the root chain, will be powered by Cosmos and Tendermint and can connect to media organizations who can run their own chain either as part of the FreeFlix Hub or independent of the Hub. Interoperability among the various chains as part of the FreeFlix Hub will be addressed with the Cosmos IBC.

FreeFlix Studio users can right now, create, read, update & delete Assets and encode them to get them stream ready!

3) Content Distribution

current status : developed as part of FreeFlix Studio

Using FreeFlix Studio, users can identify and program the right content in the right format, with the right parameters and the right distribution channels/platforms.

FreeFlix Studio can right now, distribute/create a Live/Linear Stream on YouTube, which can be replicated across platforms like Facebook and Twitch.

Users can run Live/Linear Broadcasts for all 24hrs or just 30min everyday by scheduling for the same hours or even days before the actual event. FreeFlix Studio runs in the cloud and hence all distribution of content & management of media files happens in the cloud itself.

FreeFlix Studio users need NOT have any device (computer/mobile) running during the Live Stream.

4) Content Monetization

current status : developed as part of FreeFlix AdX

Monetization, key to the business of a creator, can be checked for all videos (historical or future uploaded) on YouTube. Currently, Live Streams can be monetized by ingestion of Google/YouTube Ads within YouTube and native ads on owned & operated platforms.

For a YouTube Live Stream, FreeFlix Studiousers can either ingest native content promos (or) request for an ad directly from YouTube.

The possibility exists for VOD videos too and has been tested with partners. The same will roll out to FreeFlix Studio users via FreeFlix AdX in the next quarter.

5) Measure — efficiency and content performance

current status : under development, as part of FreeFlix Media Intelligence

Gain insight into understanding content performance to determine the best possible content creation strategy backed by data

With FreeFlix Media Intelligence, derive insights out of raw data and enable your Programming Managers and Creators create data-driven content. FreeFlix Media Intelligence is currently under development and is planned for a release in the next quarter, Q2 2020.

What are we upto now?

Currently, FreeFlix Media has the core of it’s development focused on FreeFlix Studio and the B2C platform for curated Live Streams from around the world, https://FreeFlix.Live, while talking to Content Managers & Digital Media Managers across media production studios or media houses to understand their problems/concerns and address them with the FreeFlix Media Suite.
