We all dream of being successful, we log onto Medium for the day and the first thing we do is rush towards that stat page. Making sure to see the progression we have made, and most importantly the financial gain.

But unless you know a couple of simple tricks how can you boost your earnings?

When I began my journey on Medium, I knew nothing. I just saw it as a writing platform where you shared your ideas in any way you liked. I didn’t realize grammar was so important.

So let’s jump you in with some tips to become successful

Prioritize the audience

You are writing for them. Make sure everything you say makes sense and is easily understandable through the community. You don’t need to make it an easy read, but a read that keeps them entertained.

Building a community of support around you is so important and is the key to becoming financially free.

Engage with your followers, read their work, and comment back. Every little bit you do helps them, and they will return the favor.

If you get any suggestions on what they want to see you write about, go give it a go. It’s a new challenge and one your audience is waiting for!

I like to write for my readers and provide them with articles they need to see, boosting their skills and helping them improve.

Write like a human being

A lot of the time we can get carried away explaining the facts, going into a huge description leaving the reader becoming overwhelmed with information.

Remember to keep it real

You don’t want to sound like a robot, just going through the words without any personality or realism touched. There are a few ways you can do this:

  • Adding humor
  • Creating links to their everyday life
  • Add in phrases that you, yourself use in daily life
  • Giving silly metaphorical ideas

By doing these, you are showing you are different from the textbook article. Your personality is shining through and the reader is beginning to understand more about you. Leaving them more hooked on you as a writer and your personality.

Once they see your new article, they will want to know more about you. They want to read useful information, with a human touch. Creating a loyal follower.

Time

Nobody becomes a Roald Dahl overnight, it takes time. Learning how to write your articles best, in the best structure, timeframe, and description is hard. I struggled with this when I first began.

But over time my articles have improved. I began by creating huge paragraphs in a miss- match structure that was too much to read.

By breaking up my work I made it more appealing and seemingly faster to read the points I was expressing.

You will learn from your own mistakes and by taking time to reflect and build upon them your success will begin. It might be small at the start, but it builds.

And before you know it you will be rolling in the money, or being that top-class writer you dreamed of becoming.

Thank you for reading! If you enjoyed this article, please clap this article for me :)
