#EFWeek partners with Freelance Business Month

xxx, 9 September 2020 — Year five of #EFWeek kicks off digitally on October 16th — 25th, 2020 with a focus on building and highlighting the freelance ecosystems in Europe. For the first time #EFWeek will be run in partnership with the Freelance Business Month, an online event series which is taking place from 1st to 31st October.

#EFWeek is the largest annual celebration of independent work in Europe, aimed at self-empowerment of the self-employed across 11 European countries. Freelancers are the drivers of innovation and dictate the way work and lifestyle need to evolve in the gig economy.

Designed to unite the European freelance ecosystem and to show the power of growing independent businesses, the Freelance Business Month is organized by the Freelance Business Community. By highlighting independent professionals, the month long event will play an integral part in creating ideas, sharing knowledge and skills, and discovering new tools to increase productivity and efficiency.

This newly founded partnership is key as #EFWeek aims to reach as many freelancers and coworking spaces this year (events in at least 20 coworking spaces in 20 countries). Connecting and standing together in solidarity is now more important than ever.

“This year, events such as Freelance Business Month and #EFWeek are needed more than ever. Solidarity and collective action is needed. We are thrilled about the partnership and the opportunity for connection this partnership creates for the freelance sector as well as the coworking sector,” says Jeannine van der Linden of the European Coworking Assembly, organizer of #EFWeek.

“The benefit of these digital events is that they are accessible to anyone. Attendees worldwide can join online sessions, workshops, and masterclasses, present their own expertise, and learn about new products. Additionally they can connect with each other via powerful AI matchmaking and initiate their own sessions, discussions or round-tables. Partnering with #EFWeek 2020 connects Freelance Business Month to a European wide organization, where together, we’re stronger”, says Elina Jutelyte, founder of Freelance Business Community.

Freelancer-friendly businesses are encouraged to become part of a network driving towards a more inclusive and fair economy for all. Participate in #EFWeek as a sponsor either by arranging an event, in-kind donations or monetary sponsorships.

Whether an independent professional, employer, or supplier working within the freelancing community, Freelance Business Month offers an opportunity to network and contribute toward the development of the future of work.

This is an unprecedented opportunity to build back better, to speak with one voice about how the future should look — and what is best left in the dust of the path. But first, we have to get together, speak and be heard.
