If you’re a freelancer, you know that it can be a struggle to find jobs that meet all your desired criteria. It can take hours of surfing all the different job-board websites out there. This is where an RSS reader can come to the rescue, saving you a boatload of time.

A RSS reader file is one that gives you all the updates you require from a website, which often appears as lists of articles that contain links. This means that you have one place into which all your different go-to job boards send every new listing. You scroll through it once or twice a day, quickly separating jobs that you are actually interested in from all the others.

You may have come across the word RSS, or you may have even subscribed to another website’s RSS feed. But what exactly is an RSS reader?

Why is an RSS feed important to have as a freelancer? Are RSS feeds used in the modern world? In simple terms, yes, and this article will try to explain just why it is so important for you to be aware of, and make use of, RSS feeds and readers.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and it serves to help you stay familiar with new content from websites that interest you.
