Wasting time trying to get the perfect voiceover ruins your productivity.
I run a YouTube channel with over 15k+ subscribers, and trust me, AI voice generators have simplified my YouTube journey like never before.
AI voice generators can help with:
- Narrating YouTube videos
- Producing voiceovers for ads
- Creating audiobooks or podcasts
- Generating content for e-learning
In this article, I’ve tested 5 different AI voice generators and here’s my honest review of what I found to be the best.
Best AI Voice Generator tools I Tried
I’ve tested 5 AI voice generators in detail, so let’s see what each tool has to offer.
1. Fiverr Go: The Best AI Voice Generator Backed By Human Touch
The Fiverr Go AI Audio Generator is a cool tool for creators looking for AI audio voice-overs without the hassle of learning new tech or working with a freelancer.
Each voiceover based on a real seller. So, the voice-overs are very unique and professional. You also can ask for changes from the real person before you complete the order, making this a huge advantage compared to other AI tools.
It’s a simple 9-step process —
- Head over to Fiverr Go
- Click on “Music and Audio”
- Test out the multiple audio samples and pick the one that suits your vibe the best. Don’t forget to check the pricing too, as different audios have different pricing.
- Click on “Generate in this style.”
5. Enter the script you want the AI audio to narrate.
6. Wait for the AI to work its magic.
7. Listen to the audio and make any changes to the script if necessary. Once you’re satisfied, click on “Continue.”
8. Pay for your order, and voila! Your brand new AI-voiceover is ready for an instant download!
9. You can also request a manual edit after you’ve paid. Don’t forget to click on “Yes, I approve delivery” once you’re done.
The Fiverr Go AI Audio Generator makes it super easy to get an AI voice over within a few minutes. It’s affordable, intuitive, and delivers high-quality audio with a few clicks. I was impressed with the quality and ease of use. No wonder this tool ranks first on my list.
AI voice generators on Fiverr
If you’ve been following my content for a while, you probably already know about my love for Fiverr. This platform has just about everything you need.
Need an AI voiceover or a design for your podcast cover? Fiverr has freelance experts for all.
The best part? There’s a human touch behind every service you use.
Plus, Fiverr makes it super easy to find the right people for your needs. Just head over to Fiverr and search for the service you’re looking for.
Say you want an AI voiceover. Here’s what the search results look like:
Before I choose an expert, I always like to check a few things:
- Rating
- Experience
- The “About this gig” section
- Pricing
- Delivery time
- Whether there’s a free trial
- Reviews
Here’s an example of the “About this gig” section from a Level 2 seller on Fiverr:
Fiverr gives your work the human touch it desperately needs, especially in 2025.
2. ElevenLabs: Best for Audiobooks and Voice Cloning
ElevenLabs is an AI tool that creates realistic text-to-speech audio.
This tool also offers speech-to-text, voice modification for audio, and even voice cloning. The AI dubbing feature of ElevenLabs supports 29 languages, which is pretty amazing.
- Go to ElevenLabs.
- Click on “Try for free”.
- Sign up with Google or email to get started.
I’ll start by testing ElevenLabs’ “Text-to-Speech” tool. Simply enter the text you want to convert, select a voice from their library, and you’re good to go. Now, let me check out the different voices offered by this AI tool.
I’m pretty impressed by the range and collection of voices ElevenLabs offers. You can pick any AI voice depending on your needs — storytelling, conversational, informative, educational, etc.
What I especially love is how clearly each voice’s characteristics are explained. ElevenLabs has made sure that the description of each AI voice is super informative and detailed, so you can pick the one that suits you best.
I’m going to use a general passage on AI voice generators, choose “Rachel” as the voice, and the “Eleven Multilingual v2” model. This model supports 29 languages, which is pretty amazing, right?
You can adjust the speed, stability, similarity, and style exaggeration of the speech generated. ElevenLabs also provides a “Speaker boost” option to increase the volume of the speech generated.
I’m absolutely amazed by the results! What I’ve noticed with most AI voice generators is that the voice sounds so robotic and AI-like. But ElevenLabs has ensured that every voiceover sounds human-like.
The generated speech has the right amount of pauses and varying sentence narration, making it sound nearly perfect.
Also, it barely took 10 seconds for this tool to convert a 90-word passage.
Now, what if you want to create a brand-new voice or maybe clone your own? Don’t worry, ElevenLabs has got you covered.
Simply click on “Voices” on the left pane of the screen. You can generate a new voice from a text prompt using the “Voice Design” feature.
ElevenLabs generates 3 voices to choose from, and I found all three to be pretty close to what I wanted, but I think “Voice 2” is the best. I can click on “Select voice” to save it and use it for future projects.
Now, the exciting part — cloning my own voice!
I simply need to upload a 10-second audio clip of me talking, and ElevenLabs will clone my voice with over 90% accuracy. If you want it to be even better, you can use the “Professional Voice Clone” feature, which requires a 30-minute clean audio clip.
I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the cloned audio! If I send this audio to my friends, they won’t even doubt that it’s me talking to them.
Now, I can use this cloned audio for my podcast and other audio needs without having to spend hours recording, editing, and making it sound professional.
In addition to this, ElevenLabs also has a “Voice Changer,” which converts an existing audio file’s voice into a different one.
So, I tested this tool using an audio clip of my friend speaking and used a pre-existing AI voice from the ElevenLabs library, and now she sounds like Bill from America.
You can also generate sound effects using the “Sound Effects” tool from ElevenLabs. Just enter a text prompt describing the audio you want, and ElevenLabs will generate it for you.
You can generate unique sounds for your podcast or YouTube without spending hours hunting for the perfect background effect. Plus, you can freely use the generated sounds anywhere without worrying about copyright infringement.
The bonus part is that the AI won’t judge you for generating a “Bold, lively, with a cat meowing every 3 seconds” audio file like a professional might.
I can even create an audiobook! This is a life-saver for authors like me, who struggle to find the right people to dub their books. Authors spend thousands of dollars on this, and if you want to record your own audiobook, you’ll need a professional studio, which is also pretty expensive.
I just need to upload my manuscript, select a voice, and click on “Create”. I can even use my own cloned voice, which is pretty amazing. Imagine the time and money I can save by using this tool.
ElevenLabs also lets you create a podcast. You can upload the content file, choose a host voice and a guest voice, select the language, and click on “Generate”.
I also tested the “AI Agent” feature in ElevenLabs. There are four types:
- Support agent — for general issues.
- Mindfulness coach — to help you gain clarity.
- Sales agent — to guide you on how to use ElevenLabs for your business.
- Video game generator — a fun AI agent to help resolve game-related queries.
Each AI agent engages in a human-like conversation. It’s almost like chatting with a friend or mentor who’s always available.
ElevenLabs has a “Dubbing” tool that can convert your audio or video into 29 different languages within minutes. This breaks down all language barriers for content creators, which is super cool. You can either upload your audio or video file or simply paste the link.
Pricing
That’s a whole lot of features. But how much does ElevenLabs cost? Let’s discuss the pricing plans.
I’m sticking with the yearly billing options because you end up saving more in the long run.
The “Free” plan offers basic text to speech and dubbing features for up to 10,000 credits per month. I’d say 10k credits per month is fantastic for testing out the tool.
The “Starter” plan costs $4.17/month, includes instant voice cloning, and gives access to the dubbing studio with 30,000 credits per month.
The “Creator” plan is the most popular one, at $18.33/month. If you’re a professional and need advanced voice cloning with 100,000 credits per month, you should go for this.
Need a high volume of voiceovers? The “Pro” plan is available at $82.50/month, which gives you 500,000 credits per month, priority access, and full API integration.
If you run a business, you can also check out the enterprise plans of ElevenLabs.
2. Listnr: Best for Video and Podcast Creation
Listnr claims to be one of the most widely used AI voice generators. This tool offers 1,000+ different voices and supports over 142 languages. Listnr includes a text-to-speech tool, a text-to-video tool, and a voice cloning tool. You also get an API for the text-to-speech feature.
- Go to Listnr.
- Click on “Sign Up-Free”.
- Sign up using your email or Google to get started.
Let’s start with Listnr’s “TTS Voiceover” tool. You can either:
- Create a new project using the editor
- Upload a PDF to convert it into a voiceover
- Convert your blog post into a voiceover using just a URL
Since I’m a writer, I’m going to try the blog post voiceover tool first. I simply need to paste the URL of the blog I want the voiceover of and click on “Add”.
Here’s a tip: you need to use a URL that Listnr can access. For instance, you can’t use a “members only” or a locked blog, so keep that in mind while using this tool.
Once Listnr is done processing the URL, you’ll need to choose a voice from the available list of voices.
I’m going to test the “Create New Cloned Voice”. To do this, I need to enter a name for the voiceover, upload at least one audio file (with a maximum of 25), and add labels. Once done, I’ll click on “Clone Voice”.
The result is pretty amazing! I sound exactly like the cloned voice in real life. I would definitely use this tool again because it’s so accurate.
Getting back to the blog voiceover tool, if you’ve purchased a plan on Listnr, you can opt for premium voices, which sound more natural than the generic AI voices. You also get the option to adjust the speed and style of the voiceover.
What’s new for me is the “Pauses” and “Pronunciation” features. You can adjust the timing of each pause in your voiceover. It’s best if you see for yourself.
Pretty cool, right? To make things simpler, you can just use Listnr’s default pause duration.
Listnr also lets you add pronunciations. You need to type in the original pronunciation and what you want to replace it with.
Even though these features might seem a bit extra, trust me, having the flexibility to make small adjustments in your voiceover really enhances its quality. Small, subtle changes can completely transform how your voiceover sounds.
Listnr also lets you type in your content that you wish to convert into a voiceover.
Additionally, Listnr has a video dubbing tool. You need to type in a project name, upload your video file or paste the video link, choose an output language, and click on “Dub My Video”.
Listnr also lets you create a video within minutes. To use this tool, you’ll need to purchase a plan.
Here’s how it works:
- Enter a text prompt describing your video.
- Choose a media source.
- Select a style — Analog, Cinematic, Comic Book, Digital Art, etc.
- Pick a genre — Horror, Thriller, Romance, Comedy, etc., or choose none.
- Choose the type of video — YT Shorts, Reels, or YT Video.
- Select the voice for the voiceover.
- Pick background music from the list.
- Click on “Generate Script.”
Listnr allows you to create podcasts from scratch, or you can import your existing podcast. I just need to enter the podcast name, the host’s name, choose a cover pic (or design one using Canva), and add a brief description.
Now, you can start creating new episodes with ease, without the need to spend thousands on a professional studio-like environment.
Pricing
Next, it’s time to check out Listnr’s pricing plans.
Again, I’m going to focus on the annual plans because you can save up to 20%.
The “Individual” plan ($190/yr) is perfect for solo creators. You get 50 videos, 20,000 words/month, and 50GB storage. The “Solo” plan ($390/yr) is great for small teams. You get 150 videos, 50,000 words/month, and 100GB storage.
The “Agency” plan ($990/yr) is for high-volume use. You get 250 videos, 500,000 words/month, and 250GB storage. I feel this is good enough, if you need bulk content.
3. Fliki: Best for Converting Ideas and Blogs into Audio
Fliki offers multiple tools like Text to Video, Idea to Video, Text to Speech, AI Voiceover, AI Avatar, and Voice Cloning — I could go on, but the list is endless. Having so many tools in a single platform is pretty amazing.
- Go to Fliki.
- Sign up using email, Google, or Apple to get started.
Since we’re more interested in AI voice generation, I’m going to start by testing the “Idea (Prompt)” tool of Fliki, which converts your idea into speech.
The best part? You don’t need a proper script — just enter an overall idea of what you expect.
- Type in your idea, select the duration, and click on “Next”.
- Choose the language and dialect.
- Select the tone (inspirational, heartwarming, etc.).
- Pick the purpose (social media, blog, etc.).
- Select the audience.
- Enter the script style.
Fliki will generate a script for you. If you’re not happy with the results, you can click on “Regenerate Script”.
Click on “Next”. Choose a voice from the list of AI voices for the voiceover.
You can also clone your own voice by clicking on “Try voice cloning”. Simply record a 2-minute audio of your voice, and you can generate any number of voiceovers in your own voice.
Fliki also lets you generate unique, custom voices based on a text prompt. All you have to do is type in some details — age, accent, tone, etc., and you’ll get a custom voice tailor-made for you.
Once done, you’ll get a super detailed audio file generated within seconds!
Fliki can also generate a nice video with a voiceover for you.
Here’s a screenshot of the tutorial video of a DIY phone case generated by Fliki:
As you can see, Fliki gives you the option to edit the font type, size, and other aspects of the video. The generated video is pretty amazing! It’s super informative and, most importantly, not boring. It hardly took a minute for Fliki to generate this.
You can also add background music from Fliki’s in-built music library. Once you’re done adding the final touches, click on “Download” to save the file. If you want a copy without the watermark, you’ll need to purchase a plan.
Fliki’s “Blog (URL) to Audio” tool lets you convert your blogs into speech. Enter a prompt, paste the URL, select the intended audience, tone, style, etc., choose a voice, and click on “Submit”.
That’s it! Fliki will convert your blog into a well-articulated speech that you can use on YouTube or your podcast.
I just came across the “Thumbnail” tool of Fliki. If this is worth the hype, it could save me a lot of time I usually spend designing my thumbnails.
All I need to do is type my video title, choose a style, and Fliki will generate a prompt.
Let’s go for the 16:9 landscape mode, and “Cinematic” theme.
I can spot an error in the thumbnail text, but that can be easily fixed. If I wish, I can also add custom images to my thumbnail. However, if you run a faceless YouTube channel, the generated thumbnail is pretty decent.
Fliki generates 5 thumbnails to choose from, but I found this one to be the best.
Aside from this, you can convert your PPTs and scripts into videos within seconds, generate professional-level presentations, and convert your existing script into audio — all from the comfort of your home.
Pricing
Now, let’s see the pricing plans of Fliki.
Most AI tools offer at least a 20% discount on the yearly plans, and Fliki gives a 25%.
The “Free” plan gives you only 5 credits per month, so even with over 300 AI voices, you won’t be able to do much. This plan is just for you to see if you’re comfortable with Fliki or not.
The “Standard” plan at $21/month offers 2,160 minutes of usage per year, 15-minute export limits, and access to 1,000 standard voices.
On the other hand, the Premium plan at $66/month is designed for teams and professional creators. You get 7,200 minutes of credit per year, 30-minute exports, over 2,000 voices, AI video clips, custom fonts and faster exports.
If you run an enterprise, you can check out the “Enterprise” plan. Get in touch with the Fliki team to get custom pricing for your needs.
4. Murf.ai: Best for Customization and Script Generation
Murf.ai claims to be used by over 300 Forbes 2000 companies, which is quite impressive. This AI tool offers a text-to-speech converter (with an API version), a dubbing tool, a voice changer, and a voice cloning feature.
- Go to Murf.ai.
- Click on “Sign Up” and sign up using your email, Google, Microsoft, or Slack to get started.
Let’s use a sample text from one of my articles as the script. Once done, I can choose an AI voice from the list. I’m going to stick with “Natalie (US)”.
Now comes the style options:
- Promo
- Conversational
- Narration
- Meditative
- Inspirational
- Sorrowful
And there’s more. I can also adjust the pitch, with a range from -50% to +50%, as well as the speed.
You can even decide how many pauses you want in your audio, and customize the pronunciation of certain words. Additionally, Murf.ai lets you adjust the variability of the generated speech if you have a paid plan.
What I like is the range of customization options you get. For example, you can choose which words you want to emphasize more. Pretty cool, right?
It only took ten seconds for a 16 second audio to get generated. The quality is simply amazing. It sounds exactly like a human talking.
If you have a script ready, you can directly upload the file to Murf.ai to convert to speech. Murf.ai accepts .txt, .docx, and .srt files.
What if you want to convert your audio to text? Murf.ai lets you do that too.
Simply upload the audio file you want to transcribe.
Here’s how the final result looks like:
I love how precise the transcription is! Murf.ai even gives suggestions to improve the audio quality. Like, I was advised to remove a few unnecessary pauses.
If you click on the play buttons on the right side of the screen, you’ll hear “Natalie” narrating the text for you.
What I didn’t like is that you need to purchase a plan just to test the voice cloning feature. What if the output isn’t great? Murf.ai should allow users to try it for free before asking for payment.
If you want to translate your files, you can contact the Murf.ai team to access the “Enterprise” plan.
Murf.ai also integrates with PowerPoint, Zapier, Canva, Google Slides, Adobe Captivate, WordPress, and more. Plus, I love that Murf.ai teamed up with ChatGPT to create “Murf GPT”! Just enter a prompt, and ChatGPT will generate a script — which Murf.ai then turns into audio.
Murf.ai also offers a dubbing tool, “MurfDub”. You need to sign up separately in order to use this.
The process is quite simple — just upload the file you want to dub, add the languages, and you’re good to go!
I reused the same audio as before. Honestly, I had a few concerns.
How would I sound in French? And would the dubbed version still sound like me or just another AI voice?
I decided to find out. Within five minutes, the audio was ready.
And honestly, it turned out really well. The translation was spot-on, and the diction was impressive too.
So, does it sound like me? For the most part, yes. But if I close my eyes and listen carefully, I can tell it’s not exactly me.
Murf.ai still has some room to improve, but the results are genuinely impressive. I’ve never seen an AI tool mimic my voice this accurately after translation.
Pricing
Now, let’s take a look at Murf.ai’s pricing plans. I’ve noticed they tend to promote the “Enterprise” plan more than the others.
The “Creator” plan ($19/mo) is great for individuals. You get 24 hours of voice generation per year and essential features. The “Growth” plan ($66/mo) gives you 96 hours per year, business licensing, and audio-to-text. The “Business” plan ($199/mo) includes advanced voice features, plugins, and 240 hours per year.
For large organizations, the “Enterprise” plan (Custom) provides unlimited generation, AI translation, and enterprise-grade security.
Why Fiverr Beats All AI Voice Generator Tools
I agree that the AI voice generators that I’ve mentioned in this article are pretty impressive.
But here’s why Fiverr still tops the list:
- You don’t need to learn how to use the tool — no skills required.
- You can ask for revisions if you are not satisfied.
- Fiverr is a trusted brand and acts as an escrow service between you and the seller, meaning your money is safe.
- You will get a refund if you are completely unsatisfied with the work.
- You interact with a real person throughout the entire order process, unlike automated tools. This means you can ask questions, get clarification, and have a better understanding of the process.
Frequently Asked Questions About AI Voice Generators
1. What’s the best AI voice generator for YouTube videos?
For YouTube, Fiverr is my top pick if you want a natural, human vibe. But if you’re leaning toward a pure AI option, ElevenLabs does an amazing job too — super realistic!
2. Can AI voice generators fully replace human voice actors?
Not quite. They’re awesome for quick projects or simple narrations, but when it comes to real emotion or storytelling, nothing beats an actual human voice.
3. Are there any free AI voice generators I can try?
Yep! Both ElevenLabs and Fliki offer free plans or trials. You’ll get a good feel for what they can do without spending anything upfront.
4. Which AI voice tool sounds the most natural?
From everything I tested, ElevenLabs nailed it. Their voices have that little bit of pause, tone, and flow that makes them sound way less robotic.
5. Is Fiverr better than AI tools for getting voiceovers?
Honestly, yes. Especially if you want that real, emotional connection in your audio. On Fiverr, you’re hiring actual people who can tweak and adapt things just the way you want.
Final Verdict: Which AI Voice Generator Should You Choose?
AI voice generators can save you time, effort, and money. But can they truly adapt and mimic the emotional nuance, depth, and understanding of a real human voice? I’m afraid not.
Fiverr’s freelance experts bring genuine expression to voiceovers, something that’s hard to automate. That’s exactly why Fiverr continues to top my list across services.
- ElevenLabs: If you’re looking for an AI voice generator with an in-built audiobook feature, voice cloning, and conversational agents.
- Listnr: If you want a tool that also generates videos from a prompt, dubs them, and helps create podcast episodes from scratch.
- Fliki: To convert your PPTs into videos, generate thumbnails, and turn blog posts into speech.
