Economic think tanks, entrepreneurs, institutes, and intellectuals assemble annually at the European Resource Bank meeting to discuss the challenges to the free market, individual liberty, and free enterprise facing Europe and the world. This year the event is in Prague, Czech Republic, and will be an exciting three day conference from 13 April through 15 April, 2018.

The speakers at the conference include filmmaker Ignasi Bolto, Open Europe — Brussels head Pieter Cleppe, Secretary General of the Taxpayers Association of Europe Michael Jäger, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom South-East director Daniel Kaddik, Austrian Economics Center director Barbara Kolm, Advocacy and External Affairs director Andrew Kovalcin, professor Christopher Lingle, US Chamber of Commerce advocacy and external affairs director Jared Parks, Swiss Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises economic policy head Henrique Schneider, and HSH Prince Michael of Liechtenstein (among others).

In addition to the interesting speakers, panels, and workshops, a great fund raising opportunity will be the think tank Dragons’ Den Competition. This event is similar to the eponymous BBC television show with one difference: the competitors are think tanks. An international panel will select the proposals to be presented at the conference from the applicant pool. Just like on the TV show, final-round competitors will have an opportunity to obtain funding for their projects by pitching their ideas to our distinguished jury.

If you wish to compete for extra funding for your organization, or simply want to test the viability of your ideas, enter the Dragons’ Den Competition! Email a one (1) page description each of your project and group to office@austriancenter.com with the subject line “Dragons’ Den — Institution Name.” Applications are accepted until 19 March, 2018. All think tanks and institutions are welcome to apply!
