Free Market Token to integrate with a top university and result in 15,000 FMT wallet use for AR game
On the 26th June 2018 Free Market Token announced an agreement with Australia’s leading universities student guild and Logicbase Interactive to provide an augmented reality game that runs on Free Market Token.
The game, Rivals, integration will put FMT tokens in the hands of all 15,000 app users. As part of the agreement, FMT will airdrop tokens into their pre-loaded wallets, which will come as part of an upgrade to the current app and will encourage students to start playing the game.
Game-play will be like ‘Clash of Clans meets Pokèmon Go’ — where players use a GPS mapping system to locate opponents and landmarks, and battle (1 vs 1 or team) to claim tokens and rewards. Players and teams can work together to dominate a local region or even a city. Players and teams are ranked and can be measured against teams in other locations and countries.
Local businesses will benefit by being able to nominate their business as a ‘stronghold’ and incentivise the players to come to their venue and spend money (or crypto), and the gamers will be rewarded with FMT and other game perks which can be used across the entire Free Market Token ecosystem — including Ecryptostore.com
The student guild supports Rivals as it means users will spend more time inside the app and will drive traffic to the businesses that currently advertise on the app. Businesses who currently advertise on the university app will be displayed in the game as it means additional exposure, and the students will play for the challenge, special promotions and the potential rewards.
Student rewards will take the form of in-store discounts as well as FMT tokens which could then be spent at the participating businesses.
