After winning the Mid-American Conference West division for the fourth year in a row (2–2 in those MAC title games, lost to Bowling Green in 2013), Northern Illinois started the 2014 season in unforgettable fashion.
NIU spent the summer teasing fans with these Cornfest-edition jerseys to be worn in the season opener at home vs. Presbyterian (FCS). Black helmet, black jersey, red pants, and everybody’s last name was DEKALB, but the most glaring feature of these was the shoulders that look like corn. There are other features to point to in the uni set, but I cannot stop staring at the shoulders on these things.
