Hello fellas. Today we are going to write a voice post for a blogger. But there are not much eSports blogger out there, even though I’ve found some, they are professional writers or even journalist. I found some works by amateurs too but y’know, there are very limited entries you can found in their blog.

Therefore with the help from Coach I’ve found a blog called “Jester’s Trek”, the blogger Jester (Thanks Captain!) described himself as ‘an EVE online player for six years.’

Jester has shut down the website in 2014 since he lost his passion on EVE online, however he left over 3,000 entries about the game, and that’s what you call dedication right there.

In his blog post ‘It’s only rock ’n’ roll (but I like it)’, he talked about his thoughts on the latest updates or changes of the game.

His approach is very simple, he breaks the whole patch note into small parts, then explain his thought on them individually.

His diction is very easy to understand and it is comfortable to read the whole article.

His tone is very informal, it’s like he is talking to a friend. This showed that he is a friendly person. When he is explaining the changes, he used a lot of punctuation and emojis to express his feelings towards the changes. He used exclamation marks multiple times for the changes, this show that he is very excited and positive toward them.

Also throughout the post we can see that Jester is very passionate about the game (I mean, dude wrote 3000 posts for the game!), also he is very knowledgeable of the game. He obviously knows how the changes can affect the gameplay and if it is good for the environment or not.

In addition, he is very confident in himself, he always use ‘I think’, ‘I feel’ in the article, I think this is good for him since he is a very knowledgeable player and he obviously knows the game very well.

There is another post called ‘No Tanks last forever’, and this is the last post of Jester. In the post he talked about why he is shutting down the blog (it is because he lost the passion to play the game, he is not angry over the state of the game, but a personal issue.)

Maybe this is the very last time we see Jester is writing formally in his post, he talked about how he started the blog, he was a fan of a tournament and he wrote about his feelings watching it live. Then a few years later he went to the same tournament again, but this time as a participant. He also talked his influence to the community and he is proud of it.

At the last few paragraphs he had some shout-outs to people who he really appreciates in his ‘career’. Then he said goodbye to his readers and curtain calls.

In this last blog post Jester is still friendly and passionate on writing, that’s his persona and I really like his voice in his posts.

It is very hard to find anyone that is simultaneously passionate on the game and writing a blog as an amateur. Most of the time we can only find people have one characteristic, and some of them are professional writers that published on different website.

I think Jester is a good exemplar of how to write a blog, I hope I can be like him and write about my favorite eSports game for a long time.
