We’re really proud of our workspace. It’s half-home, half-office. It’s bustling with creative people. We thought we’d keep the creativity flowing and invite friends over for our own private sessions.

“French Press Sessions” are designed to be on-the-fly for both sides of the camera. Artists can do whatever they want and we’ll go with whatever ideas come up. We’ll have different directors and editors on every piece to give it its own flavor. The constant through every session is that it’s under our roof.

For our first collaboration, we invited our friend Julio Galvez (aka “The Whooligan”), who brought in his label-mate ESTA. ESTA arrived with an armful of gear and busted out a song for us. He even named his creation “Pee Wee Herman” after the cardboard cut-out that Chris keeps at his desk to ward off predators.

We’ve filmed a lot of sessions for clients and friends. Because this was to be a French Press Session, we wanted to make something unique for us. We invited Director of Photography/Producer/Eater of Snacks Jesse Dana to shoot. We came up with the idea to start the session like La Jetée , a story told through photographs with narration. Our editor Shirley Wen translated the script into Mandarin and provided some lovely voiceover. Then we chopped it up and here it is.

So, what do you think? Who would you like to see us collaborate with?
