The federal debt is $34 trillion and rising. It will be over $50 trillion in 2033. At a certain point, you literally run out of other people’s money. If you’re 25 years old today, you’re going to spend the rest of your life dealing with the consequences of the debt that your parents and grandparents and great-grandparents ran up over the last 50 to 80 years.

Drawing on FREOPP’s groundbreaking research and the nation’s leading fiscal and economic experts, our forthcoming feature-length documentary—The Buck Stops—will explain to Americans how the federal debt is the greatest social challenge of our time: leading to a long-term rise in inflation and interest rates, increasing inequality and decreasing opportunity.

Our only way out as a nation is through reforming Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security: especially by reducing the cost of American health care. If we can’t, and the dollar’s value continues to decline, it will be essential to preserve the ability of Americans to use bitcoin to protect their purchasing power.

The Buck Stops is being produced by the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity and directed by Matthew Taylor, whose recent works include Gotham: The Fall and Rise of New York and Marcel Duchamp: The Art of the Possible.

We are actively seeking donors to fund the production of The Buck Stops. If you’re interested in supporting the film, you can donate here. Donors will be listed in the credits of the film.
