This time we are introducing first real-life POW (Proof-of-Work) in blockchain world. People need to go to local museums & galleries to complete V3 test!

Since the start of FRESCO ICD Test, we have been humbled by the tremendous support from FRESCO community worldwide. V1 & V2 test together has 61,053 people completing the test, 56,797 people scored above 80, and the average score is 84.31. The total passing spot for FRESCO ICD is 140,000, so we are almost half way there in only 17 days!

This result proves that people want to see the expansion of art world, and around 60,000 people have known who Andy Warhol is, what’s the price of a Francis Bacon print, and the price of a Picasso Ceramics within such a short amount of time. We are doing an art education program on a global scale, at a speed unseen before.

For FRESCO ICD Test V3, we decided to add Part A, the Art Visit for the following reasons:

Museums & Galleries are places for people to embrace art. If you care about art, you should visit.

Museums & galleries are two very crucial parts of the art ecosystem, they offer direct access to people who want to view & appreciate art. Museums as non-profit organizations, let it be private or public, are comprised of collections bestowed by collectors from the local community & worldwide or curated shows of artists. Galleries even as a commercial space for art transactions to happen still has art exhibitions available for the public.

To experience something magnificent with art, one needs to be at the presence of artwork, feel the light reflected upon it, feel the air being either tranquilized or squeezed by it, and let one’s thought be taken away with it.

National Gallery of Art, Washington

Going to the museum & galleries should be on everyone’s list on weekends, it is a wonderful way to spend your time without costing too much money, as most gallery & museum viewing are free or cost a fraction than watching a movie. And contrary to most people’s perception, there’s always a museum or gallery in your town, because making art more accessible to the public is a universal mission of all governments.

The key thing is to make museum & gallery viewing more interesting, is to create a better engagement model where people can be more involved with the artwork. At FRESCO, we seek to solve that with FRES Edition & FRES Trust. FRES Edition allows art owners, including museums & galleries, to release prints & multiples of an artwork on blockchain.

FRES Trust provides a clear & easy-to-understand value reference for artworks displayed at a gallery or museum. FRES Trust will not be directly related with the market value of an artwork, as for galleries they depend on the negotiation of prices to operate the business, and museums as a nonprofit will not sell any of their physical artworks. FRES Trust comes in nicely to reflect the total value of trust allocated to an artwork by users on FRESCO. And in the art world, trust in an artwork will inevitably drive up its comprehensive value, including that of the academic and the market.

So when you go to a museum or gallery, while viewing the artworks please keep FRES Trust & FRES Edition in mind, place them in those settings can help you better understand the changes FRESCO will bring to the art world, and why it will be a win-win situation for all part of the art ecosystem because we are working on expanding the art population, genuinely engage people by turning more into art collectors, rather than merely being provided with a masterpiece to take a photo for (sometime even no photo allowed) or a headphone to being educated about the artwork’s history.

Because people become more engaged if they have a stake in art, if they feel attached to art, rather than just being a spectator of art.

FRESCO ICD Test V3 is for us to increase the level of POW, while protecting the right of every community members.

FRESCO ICD Test V3 is a increase of the Proof-Of-Work difficulty, to ensure us adhere to blockchain’s philosophical foundation.

Moreover, when distributing tokens to tens of thousands of people, we have constantly faced bots trying to do the test multiple times, that significantly stalled our token distribution process. The rollout of V3 test will efficiently eliminate bots, because when you post on twitter about the artwork required in part A, you need the location tag of a gallery or museum to make it happen, or being at a museum setting with your Twitter name directly displayed near the artwork. We want people to be at the galleries & museums, and bots will not be that committed to our cause.

Things to keep in mind when doing the Art Visit:

(1) Please be respectful of the artwork, you are representing FRESCO’s global community, please only take photo of artworks that allows photos to be taken, because certain artworks are very fragile.

(2) Please be nice to people and explain what you are doing if they are curious, showing them FRESCO’s great cause of expanding the art world and will help make a positive impact for that museum or gallery globally!

Details on how to complete Part A:

(1) Go to your local museum or gallery, find an artwork you love.
(2) Take a photo of that artwork with a photo of FRESCO’s logo & your twitter or instagram account near that artwork, you can also hold a piece of paper with FRESCO’s logo & your twitter or instagram account on it!

(3) Take a photo of that artwork’s label.

(4) Send both photos as a post on your twitter and instagram, tag both FRESCO and that museum/gallery, with hashtag #FRESCOArtTestV3. Also add location tag of that museum/gallery. Feel free to write a word or two about that artwork you choose, why you think it is special!

(if the museum/gallery does not have social accounts, it’s ok just write the museum/gallery name in your post. But you should encourage the museum/gallery to open accounts on Twitter & Instagram!)

Editor’s thoughts:

FRESCO ICD Test V3 is another huge step in blockchain history, because we essentially created the world’s first Proof-Of-Work token distribution event in both real life & virtual world. By completing tasks in both worlds, people will directly engage with the focus of everything we do at FRESCO: the artworks. This V3 test also in a sense shows our belief at FRESCO, that we as a blockchain community want to help make positive impacts in the real world, and we do this by going to one museum/gallery at a time!
