The New Zeitgeist
All of our poison notions,
borrowed.
Children nursed on hate.
Divisive constructs taught by
esteemed fathers of intolerance.
Fractured logic passed on and
guided by the weak,
handed off to the innocent,
intent on propagating ignorance —
justice by the loudest,
knocking down to elevate.
Love cannot be
mixed with this Hate.
No heart
owing it’s sacred pulse to
prejudice,
quickening to demean another —
reducing human eyes
set in different faces
to something less, something
ugly, may claim to Love.
Vow with me,
with hearts that know love, our
xyphoid tongues bound, that
your humanity will be the new
zeitgeist.
