Stuffing is a technique of filling chicken, turkey or veggies with savoury ingredients which not just gives it density of texture but also builds intense flavours. Although a famous Thanksgiving tradition, but Stuffing food has become a common food-trend over the years. Whether it is a spicy filling of salsa, fruity, sweet or creamy, stuffing transforms a regular dish into something extraordinary.

To make sure that Stuffing fulfils your expectations, here are a few tips that will come in handy:

The Easy Route: If you don’t want to spend time on making a filling, just make a dressing and pour it over the meat or veggies (bell peppers or mushrooms). Pan jus is the easiest you can get. Else, you can melt some butter in the pan you have cooked your dish and the remaining flavours will marry beautifully with the shortening.

Use Dry Ingredients: Make sure your filling is not too mushy. This you can ensure by using dry rubs or keeping wet and dry ingredients separate until right before stuffing the bird or casserole dish. If you like the stuffing a little drier and cake-like, add an egg or two.

Go Fruity: The classic stuffing is a combination of fruit and nuts. You can try pairing Apple with Cranberry or chop up some apricots and mix them with hazel-nuts. There you have it!

All the veggie aficionados can try stuffing mushrooms with sweet and savoury fillings. We have done one for you today and it’s called Stuffed Mushroom Spaghetti and is made with button mushrooms stuffed with a mixture of crushed peas, carrots, roasted pumpkins and served with a spicy tomato-paprika spaghetti.
