Love comes in two — Chocolate and Almond

Dark, decadent chocolate with sinfully roasted almonds, if this is not love via food then we don’t know what is. It is said that this combination came in about when a bakery chef was making his fresh batch of chocolate bars and accidentally he dropped a packet of almonds. An epic creation in disguise?

This pairing is unique also in terms of the other dry fruit options be it cashew which in itself is extremely rich that pairing with anything wouldn’t compliment. Walnut is a really picky dry fruit since it doesn’t have any unique taste in itself to give out. And raisins are way too sweet for a delish which doesn’t require it.

Almonds being such a rich product that it can trigger almost any decadent product and uplift it with better flavours. There is a strong reason why they dedicate an entire day for this combination, on this ‘National Chocolate with Almonds Day’ we believe you should be treating yourself with something more than just regular. Try this unique cake by Donna Hay called the “Dessert in a Bowl”. Or your treat yourself in a small party of whipping up your very own chocolate bars! Yes, they barely require 5 ingredients and you will be set. Melted chocolate, butter, cream and roasted almonds with salt sprinkle (if using a dark chocolate). Nigella Lawson always accompanies her dark chocolate with a pinch of salt to keep the tongues asking for more.

Have a Chocolatey with Sprinkles of Almonds Day! :)
