Ginger breads are an age old tradition, these small but packed-with-flavour brownies and cookies adorn dinner tables on festivals like Christmas and Easter. These tangy little wonders of joy make festivities grand. Originating from China, this cake was revamped with exotic French flavours which also gave birth to a new brownie which is a softer version of ginger bread called the Parkin-made with flour, ginger, molasses and lots of butter.

Parkin is a Yorkshire’s favourite and this combines exciting flavours of oatmeal and black treacle. This sticky treat is low on fat and gets delicious and richer in flavour with yummy toppings. Parkin originally was just a mix of cake dough with oatmeal but now variation of parkin thrives in pastry stores. Yorkshire offers some of the finest parkin cakes which involves impeccable, new combinations like parkin with berry, banana and mango are some of the list.
