FACTS AS THEY GO

Ever since people have become health conscious the move towards Vegetarianism has gained lots of ground. Association of health benefits especially due to the high fiber and Phyto chemicals (ANTI OXIDANTS) content as also other nutrients such as — Vitamins C & E, Folic acid, potassium, magnesium, low fat and essentially unsaturated fats is the main cause for the shift. This is true especially for people with heart problems, diabetics and cancer or those who have a family history of the same.

However veganism is still looked at skepticism by a huge group of the world’s population as vegan diets can easily become skewed and less balanced if one is not careful. Vegan diets are similar to vegetarian diets which contain less saturated fat and cholesterol and more dietary fiber. Of special concern is the deficiency of Calcium, Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin B12. In a few cases micro-nutrients such as iron & zinc can become deficient.
However if one eats with sense and sensibility than vegans are never obese, have less risk of cancers especially colorectal and prostrate, these have a better managed blood pressure and cholesterol picture and less cardio vascular problems.
