Recap Freshworks Huddle: To learn, engage, and code together. 🦋🤝
After a successful virtual Huddle in April this year, we hosted another edition of Huddle on the 25th and 26th of August. Our developer community huddled together to explore and leverage the new developer platform features.
We began by committing this edition and showing our appreciation to all those working hard in the field to keep us safe.
Highlights⚡️
We kicked off the event, providing a gist of the updates and additions to our developer resources — Crayons (our design library), Code recipes, and Custom Actions — Routing automation.
We had partners from across the world attending the sessions. We were amazed to see participants from a 4:30 AM time zone take part in the event! Marllon Mainardes, Samuel Pares, and Zachary King — your enthusiasm and participation are what encourage us to continue with the Huddle program. A small, focused event meant that we had quality live discussions and great interpersonal connections.
All work and no play makes Jack and Jill dull. We added some music and quizzes in between to keep up the energy and engagement. We used Glitch to make our sessions interactive and that’s where the magic began.
Following the introductory sessions, we had our developer advocates share insights on leveraging the various platform features and optimization techniques. There were sessions on the new Freshdesk SDK (beta) and the new Freshteam features as well. All the sessions included Glitch playgrounds to code along.
The Minnal talks (where developers from partner organizations share their experiences on building apps for Freshworks) had Marllon Mainardes and Samuel Pares, developers from Loupen sharing their development experience with Crayons. Rajeswaran from Spritle spoke about his experience building Freshchat apps.
The community updates session was all about discussing how we are growing as a community and how members can contribute effectively to become community change-makers. We shared the growing community stats and celebrated our community champions of the last quarter. Participants also got a glimpse of the upcoming events and programs. We wrapped the session seeking feedback to better our community.
What did you miss if you missed this Huddle?
- What makes iparams.json dynamic?
- How do we foresee Freshdesk SDK Library as a replacement for the Freshdesk REST APIs in your apps?
- How to optimize the use of Request APIs at scale?
- The hands-on live coding experience for Freshcaller — customs actions.
What do our developers have to say about the Huddle?
Good-bye for now. We will see you soon.🌴
The event received a phenomenal response from our participants. I would like to thank all the participants and the team that made this a successful event! Thank you for your active participation, enthusiasm, and zeal. We will continue to host such events.
“Be transparent. Let’s build a community that allows hard questions and honest conversations so we can stir up transformation in one another.”
