Proposal: Student Success Assistant
Leadership, Technology and Innovation
The proposed AI based operating system learns and adapts to the users. It would combine the technology utilized in amazon alexa, bot, and data analytics to provide a platform for student engagement. This new system allows for a combination of customer service, enhanced functionality, and two way student engagement. This student success assistant is designed to deliver a combination of voice and mobile engagement across platforms. With the proposed system, Fresno State students, staff, faculty, and guests have access to more information at their fingertips by using voice commands (and/or typed text) to receive valuable information about the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, facilities, services, and programs offered by tapping into current systems. The data produced also allows managers key data and control to help them make informed decisions.
This proposed AI Based operating system would provide 24–7 customer service on student’s devices and online. This technology would converse with students, faculty, staff, and guests to meet their needs. The product be customized to the student in order to improved the educational experience and learns as the program evolves. The service can also follow up with the user through texts or emails so key information does not get lost.
The proposed framework includes the Technology Services and Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, but could be applied to several other key areas. Additionally, the student success assistant will connect with the student at every stage of their journey from prospective student to graduation. It will also connect with other features that already exist on campus. For example, the application can add events to the students calendar.
