If Chuck Todd was right a few weeks back when he said all politics in America are now national, not local, and I think he was, then tomorrow isn’t just about state questions and congressional open seats — it’s about a country. A Democratic governor in Kansas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida, for instance, means Donald Trump has fewer places to throw raw meat to people like this.

It also means we have better angels.

Your guess is as good as mine about how many more elections we have before three Lithuanians in a basement apartment in Vilnius crack every election security protocol in the nation, so, tomorrow, while we still figuratively (maybe literally) have our fate in our hands, let America know we showed up.

We all need some therapy, because somebody came along and said, “‘Liberal’ means soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on Communism, soft on defense, and we’re gonna tax you back to the Stone Age because people shouldn’t have to go to work if they don’t want to!” And instead of saying, “Well, excuse me, you right-wing, reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-choice, pro-gun, Leave It To Beaver trip back to the Fifties…!”, we cowered in the corner, and said, “Please. Don’t. Hurt. Me.” No more. I really don’t care who’s right, who’s wrong. We’re both right. We’re both wrong. Let’s have two parties, huh? What do you say?
