We start with a riddle.

Q. If you were in a room with Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions and had a gun with only one bullet, whom would you shoot?

A. Yourself in the head.

Comes to us today yet another recap of what happened to the Republican Party, generally, and Roy Moore, specifically, a few weeks back in Alabama.

The president of the United States thinks he knows.

Trump lamented the loss of the Senate seat to the Democrats and partly put the blame on Sessions for taking up the position at the Justice Department, which triggered the special election, according to a report from the Associated Press on Tuesday.

For taking up the position? How about the schmuck who offered it to him?

“Jeff has been a highly respected member of the U.S. Senate for 20 years,” Trump said in a statement. “He is a world-class legal mind and considered a truly great Attorney General and US Attorney in the state of Alabama. Jeff is greatly admired by legal scholars ….

Yeah, name two.

I’m willing to blame Sessions for dismantling the First, Fifth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments, the latest Will Smith movie, and the end of civilization, but Roy Moore’s defeat?

Nah.

The Alabama GOP turned its lonely, empty eyes to a bigoted, God-bothering pedophile who Donald Trump defended and championed.

That stench, Mr. President, is yours to keep.
